Camping Faq's
Frequently Asked Questions
Maybe. This depends on the season and local fire restrictions. Please ask when you arrive and we will let you know based on the current conditions. We sell firewood for $20 per bag or a huge Bulk of firewood is $120 (bulk order has to be finalized prior to arrival to ensure we have time to deliver it to your campsite).
No. Whilst you’re most welcome to collect kindling to start the fire, for safety and conservation reasons we do not permit firewood to be collected from the property.
You can either buy firewood with your booking ($20 per bag, or $120 for a large bulk load which is delivered to your campsite), or you may bring your own.
No; there are no large waterways on the property. There are dams and a small sand-bottom creek suitable for pets to swim, but are not suitable for two-legged swimmers.
Pushbikes, yes. Motorbikes, no.
Riders must wear an Australian Standards approved helmet at all times whilst riding their pushbikes.
If you do come across the horses on your adventures, just stop and wait for them to ride past.
Your dog is most welcome to join you on your camping trip. We ask that dogs are on a leash around the home base. However, you’re welcome to have them off leash at your campsite (if you’re camping out ‘in the bush’). Please do not let them chase the cattle or run into other campsites.
No. Please take all rubbish with you. Fines apply if campsites are littered – and this includes toilet waste.
No – we don’t mind whether you come with a car, campervan, trailers or a caravan. Simply let us know what you’ll be bringing when you book so we can assign you with a suitable campsite.
Yes, please bring all drinking and washing-up water with you from home. We have shower on site that you’re welcome to use for bathing however there are no taps on site for filling containers.
Yes. Just let us know there will be multiple arrivals.
We will send you the directions to your campsite prior to your arrival – simply pass these on to your friends who are arriving separately.
Most often, no. There are small patches of coverage but it’s best not to rely on it. Driving in, you’ll lose coverage about 1 hour out from us.
Yes, during daylight hours only.
No. In the interest of keeping our property beautiful we ask that you take all waste with you. This is the case for rubbish (as we don’t have a bin service in our area) and also waste from chemical/portable toilets.
Absolutely! However, please note we cannot guarantee that your requested site will be available. Whilst we do our best to accommodate everyone’s requests, campsites are assigned based on a combination of factors including group size, access suitability, and how early the booking was made.
We ask for only one booking to be made for the whole group please, otherwise your friends may be sent to a different part of the property if they book separately.
Simply contact us with the changes you’d like to make, and we will adjust your booking accordingly. The difference in the booking total will be automatically charged to your Credit Card (supplied on the original booking).
Book the campsite for those you know will definitely be coming in order to secure the campsite, and then contact us closer to the date to finalize numbers. You can also add a note in your booking that you’re expecting more people. Campsites are assigned a week prior to check-in, so please try to ensure numbers are reasonably close to accurate so we can ensure you’re assigned with a site large enough to accommodate your group.
We will send out directions to your assigned campsite via email to the person who’s made the booking in the week leading up to your stay. Please make sure everyone in your camping party has a copy of their directions before check-in day so they can use the self-check-in service and navigate to the correct campsite, as our office is not staffed full time so there may not be anyone on-site to direct everyone to their campsite.
We’ve taken great care to assign our private sites accordingly to vehicle access required. Where a 4WD private site has been booked a 4WD or AWD is required to access this site. If a member of the group does not have an appropriate vehicle, they are more than welcome to leave their vehicle at the home base and have another member of their group pick them up.
To gain access to the 4WD sites there is a small creek crossing which can be soft with sand and there are often patches of mud that require the AWD function of a vehicle to get through. Although at some times of the year, our 4WD sites may be accessible by 2WD vehicles which have enough ground clearance. The weather can affect the access greatly so it is important to be booked into a site that the vehicles in your group can access whatever the weather.
If you’re looking to ride whilst here, you will need to book in advance. Our horse rides book out often weeks in advance, so to save disappointment please book as early as possible.
Please note, you’re not required to ride in order to camp on the property.
What others are saying
Chapman's has been hands down the best trail riding experience that I've had in Australia, it is so worth the trip and realistically is not that far from either Sydney, Central Coast or Newcastle.
We wanted something that would give us the freedom to trot, canter, and really enjoy the Australian landscape on well-cared-for horses. Chapman Valley delivered that and so much more!
Not a typical nose-to-butt trail ride. Chapman valley horse riding was one of the best horse riding experiences I’ve had to date.
The horses are so well cared for, the saddles are good quality and comfortable, the staff and guides are lovely (and organised) and the food is great.
What sets Chapman Valley apart is the staff - they are absolutely wonderful! So friendly and welcoming, you get the feeling you're staying with family
These guys are fanatical about horse welfare and guest safety, the guides are helpful but never intrusive and cater for all levels of riders.
We had such a great time on the 3-day cattle muster. The accommodation was beautiful, guides we very friendly and accommodating, horses very well cared for.
I have never seen the Milky Way so clearly other than being in the middle of ocean. Do it!
A very nice quiet stay in a beautiful surroundings. Nice flat and grassy camp site and very friendly staff.
Amazing location and experience. No reception is GREAT. Ideal getaway. Lovely team and family run business.
Our family enjoyed horse riding, marshmallow roasting, taking in the wildlife and cows roaming, slowing down and 4WDing on the tracks.
I did the 3 day cattle muster and loved it! They take you all over the property and you get to ride and find cattle on all sorts of terrain.
The campsites were well-maintained and offered plenty of privacy. I loved hiking the nearby trails and enjoying the peace of nature.
Magical scenery, walking tracks, some 4wd tracks all of which are all marked out and easy to follow
